YMCA Heart of England Attends Greater Birmingham Business Expo 2025
The Greater Birmingham Business Expo 2025, the flagship working event of the year for the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, took place on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025.
Three representatives from YMCA – Heart of England were proud to represent our charity at the event. As members of the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, we are always delighted to support and participate in Chamber events, engage with other local businesses and charities, and explore ways to build meaningful connections.
Opportunities like this help us strengthen networks that contribute to our mission of supporting young people across the West Midlands.
Hosted at Edgbaston Stadium from 10:00 to 14:00, the expo featured over 95 exhibitors and five silent seminars covering a range of business and professional development topics:
Creating Compelling Content to Captivate Your Audience – Anthony Tattum, Chief Marketing Officer at Leopard Co, shared a seven-step framework for creating authentic and engaging content. His session covered everything from defining your content purpose and conducting research to developing consistency, activating ideas across multiple platforms, building a content calendar, measuring results beyond likes, and maintaining a human, useful, and authentic approach.
LinkedIn: Being Yourself to Boost Your Business – Becca Horley, Associate at Fletchers Solicitors, and Ibukun Oluleye, Brand Executive at Tribera, offered practical tips for profile optimisation and posting strategies on LinkedIn. The session emphasised how authentic content can strengthen trust, engagement, and organisational growth.
Harnessing AI to Improve Profitability – Tom Haworth, Founder of B13.ai, presented strategies for SMEs to use AI to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and drive profitability.
The Human GPS: From Small Talk to Strategic Relationships – Belinda Kaur, Speaker and Host at BK Networks, highlighted the difference between networking and relationship-building. She shared strategies for creating meaningful connections, prioritising quality over quantity, and cultivating an abundance mindset to celebrate the successes and potential of others.
Sell Smarter, Not Harder – Daniella Genas, Founder of Be the Boss International, focused on elevating sales through trust-building, active listening, and tailoring value propositions to individual clients.
We are grateful for the engaging conversations and meaningful connections made at the expo. Events like this are an important step toward fostering collaboration between local businesses and charities, helping to create tangible outcomes that benefit the Birmingham community and those most in need.
