Billy Bears Nursery, A Home Away From Home.

Creating positive outcomes with children and young people in their communities and supporting families with nursery, daycare, holiday, and year-round programmes.

Our Youth work supports Young People aged 11-18 years old to belong, contribute and thrive.  We help them to raise their aspirations, increase their confidence and achieve their goals.

Our youth work

Monday Youth Club – Location TBC

  • Every Monday
  • 4:30 – 5:00 PM: Study Group / Mental Health Drop-In
  • 5:00 – 6:30 PM: General Youth Club Activities
  • Age range: 10–17 years
  • Number of attendees: 45

 

Thursday Youth Clubs – Willenhall, Coventry

  • Every Thursday
  • Time TBC
  • Up to 38 young people
  • Format: Youth-led, co-designed, including trips

 

Thursdays – Youth club 2 

  • Delivered as part of a Sport England programme

Routes to Success is a youth Life Skills programme delivered in schools in Coventry.

  • 4 schools per academic year
  • 4 cohorts per school

Flourish is a long-running female empowerment programme supporting vulnerable young people.

  • Delivered annually during the Easter Holidays
  • For 12 young people
  • Programme has been running for over 8 years

The Youth Leadership Collective is a yearlong leadership programme delivered in partnership with Warwick Arts Centre (WAC).

  • Combines YMCA-led youth work and sessions with creative artists
  • Culminates in a spring/summer exhibition

A summer programme delivered during the school holidays, combining:

  • Sports sessions
  • Social action group activities

Sessions held weekly on a Thursday

Chris Bryant Centre

1.30 – 4.30pm

Sessions include:

  • Free tea, coffee, fruit, and soup.
  • Arts and crafts activities.
  • Board games and access to a community bookshelf.
  • Advice and guidance leaflets.
  • Monthly targeted wellness sessions, covering topics such as yoga, fitness, cooking, sexual health, mental health, and employability – attendees will be consulted on this with regular suggestions and feedback given.
  • Free sanitary packs with hygiene products, which will be provided through our community sanitary bank.

Connections to our onsite community pantry, stay and play sessions, employment and training opportunities, and community café initiatives.

We have delivered 87 youth clubs and 6 local trips, which has welcomed 121 young people, partnered with over 20 organisations and been successfully funded through grants and sponsorships.
