Full-Time: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Salary: £18,690 during the 6 month probation period. On completion of the probation period salary will be between £18,690- £22,000 depending on skills and experience.

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Officer to come and join our friendly Maintenance team. You will be responsible for the delivery of an efficient and cost effective planned maintenance programme, for the building and grounds across all sites. You will provide a safe and comfortable environment for the organisation’s customers/service users in hostel accommodation and nurseries.
We are looking for Maintenance Officer with multi-trade experience to join our small maintenance team working at YMCA sites across Birmingham. You will be skilled in general maintenance and repairs and alternations of fixtures and fittings, which will include painting and decorating, general plumbing, electrical fittings, woodwork, tiling, laying flooring, hanging doors and changing locks and be able to fit small kitchens and bathrooms.
YMCA Birmingham is an independent Christian charity providing a range of life-changing services for the local community. With a turnover of over £4m, we house over 300 young people, most of whom previously were homeless, and support them to get their lives back on track. We also care for 150 pre-school children in our 2 nurseries and run various social enterprises to create employment and generate income for our charitable work.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of general maintenance materials, applicable legislation and PAT testing equipment, be self motivated and able to work under pressure, and be able to work with staff and resident’s needs and concerns.
